Introduction
On August 6, 1945 the world was amazed when the first atomic bomb, code named "Little Boy" was dropped over Hiroshima. Three days later it would be Nagasaki would be hit with the second bomb, "Fat Man". While both were designed to end the second World War, what followed was a revolution in the field of nuclear science. Nuclear technology was not only used to create weapons of mass destruction that it is best known for, but also created a method of clean, efficient, and reliable energy production. This energy is now becoming the alternative to the harmful and polluting fossil fuels that are widely used today. What began over 70 years ago has, for the better or worse, shaped the world we see today in more ways than people know.
